Today, the most controversial figure I knew my entire life passed away. While I always played it straight and would never have gone down the path of Uncle Marvin chose, he taught me how the world truly works in a way few people understand. I learned from a young age how complex the world is and that politicians are usually far more criminal, lacking any ethics or moral compass when compared to the worst offenders in organized crime. He was right and this was once again proven during the Freedom Convoy.
Marvin, you often said you were and expert at bad decisions, and that is an understatement. As I told you lovingly, one of the last times I saw you, I learned all the things I should not do by looking at your life. You responded in your raspy voice, "I know, kid, but you're smart, not like me. You have a good family and everyone loves you. Don't do what I did; it's too hard on the people you love."
Below is the very last interview Marvin did, and it was on one of the podcasts I produced. ...
Based on this chart of Chinese oil reserves and the estimated price they will need to pay (no discounted Iranian oil) China is going to be in a world of hurt. It's hard to overestimate the impact to China if the Strait of Hormuz remains closed. This makes it hard to understand why China would supply weapons to Iran. I think Trump is pursuing a great strategy by letting the Strait remain closed. It will devastate Iran economically and China will face economic collapse if they don't get involved in opening the Strait themselves. All while the US oil companies rake in massive revenues. Trump can also invoke the War Powers Act to ensure domestic needs are prioritized over exports.
